Our Mission and Objectives

“No child should be deprived of education because of poverty”

Karam Bhoomi Foundation, UK (KBF) is an all-volunteer charitable trust (Charity number: 1186163), whose primary aim is to aid under-privileged children in remote parts of India by sponsoring their education and school infrastructure so that they can build solid foundations to lead decent lives.

KBF will also be involved in raising funds to support the children and their families during crises, such as when communities are affected by the Covid 19 crisis during 2021.

Initially, our focus will be in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand where we will work in partnership with various organisations whose objectives are aligned to ours and who meet our criteria. These include, but not exclusively, An Initiative Touch Your Soul (AITYS). At this stage in our journey, we consider working with compatible, established partners to be a more effective way of succeeding in our mission to promote education for children and relieving poverty in rural parts of India.

Karam Bhoomi Foundation’s spectrum of objectives are intended to promote child education, mitigate poverty and spiritual enlightenment:

  1. To promote the practice of Kriya yoga as a pathway to spiritual enlightenment.

  2. To provide workshops on different mediation techniques as a spiritual pathway. These include karmic mediation, healing garden mediation, chakra mediation and paranayam.

  3. Provide Mantra yoga sessions which is silent repetition of powerful prayers which are invocation to gods. These include: "Aum", "Aum Namah Shivay", the "Gayatri Mantra" "Aum Shree Gurubhayo Namah". Organising these on religiously significant days like the full moon or eclipse. These are all free and open to anyone.

  4. Provide ongoing access to the spiritual teacher for mentoring by email/phone (free).

  5. Organise retreats/ pilgrimages (E.g. to Babjis cave, Badrinath and to the Kumbh Mela that is the most peaceful and largest religious gathering in the world).

  6. Provide free weekly workshops on Kriya yoga to cleanse and heal the body - this is known to have healed mental and physical conditions. The workshops will be usually held at London West London venues like the Chiswick pier trust and the free sessions at the residence of the trustees.

  7. Promote the yogic philosophy through free talks and seminars.

  8. Promote support to the needy to relieve poverty. Integral to the yogic philosophy is the concept of Seva - service. This is akin to missionary work and we will provide support for the education and welfare of underprivileged children and their families in rural regions of India. Our focus initially will be in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. We will work in partnership with various organisations including but not exclusively An Initiative Touch Your Soul (AITYS). The selection criteria for partners is:

    • They are organisations that are not for profit.
    • They have an existing infrastructure that we can use and is aligned to our priorities.
    • Overhead costs are a minimum so we can maximise resources going direct to the beneficiaries.
    • They are registered and regulated and will be able to provide us with auditable outcomes.

We hold periodic fund raisers i.e. dinners, social events, information evenings. These events also enable us to raise awareness of our charity, its mission and objectives. All funds raised outside costs incurred directly for these events will be distributed to the chosen charity. Our personal time and work is purely voluntary.
